Closed: Secret Storage Books Review & Giveaway 2 winners

Secret Storage Books

History

•We were not the first to hollow-out books but we did stumble on the idea independently
•In 1992, a family member's home was robbed
•The thieves were only in the house for minutes but managed to find all the jewerly and cash in the underwear drawer
•At the time, Brian and Heather Egan had a woodworking business
•Used books were cheap and the Egans were well equiped to experiment with them as raw material for gift ideas
•The following Christmas, everyone in the family received 'joke gifts' made from recycled books
•The first hollow books were designed to allow cash and jewelery to be hidden in convenient, but invisible storage boxes The rest, as they say, is history...
•By 1996, 90% of sales at 'Bear Creek Woodworking' were from Bookboxes
•The company name was changed to BookBox Company (Incorporated in 2005)
•Since 1996, the Egans have been entirely dedicated to the art of hollow books

When I first saw these cool books I was in amazement of how real they looked. One of my friends actually had one but her book didn't look nearly as real as these books. We tricked the kids into thinking it was an actual book & they still believe it. We have never corrected them when asked about the book. It was funny because Tim asked why I got a Sherlock Holmes Book in the mail until he started looking at it.

The selection offered by Secret Storage Books can make any type of person happy. Of course you would want to pick a book that fits into who you are. I love how the company has taken recycling these books into something great.
Recycling

•All Bookboxes are made from real, recycled books
•Most books are purchased from charities (such as Goodwill) who receive them as donations
•Books are also purchased from recycling organizations and from publishers
•100% of every book is recycled (30% by weight as a bookbox and 70% by weight as scrap paper)
•The Book Box Company endeavors to be an environmentally responsible company
