Holiday Gift Guide Review: LeapPad Learning Tablet

LeapFrog
I am so excited that I had the opportunity to host a LeapFrog Party! I will be writing a series of posts to showcase the different products we were lucky enough to review! The first product I wanted to write about is the LeapPad! The first thing I think of is how LeapFrog keeps raising the bar for child friendly products that rock!

This product has so many features I don't want to bog down one post with everything! My 5 year old is the main kid who has played with the Tablet & he learned how to use it fairly quickly! I will also be posting pictures from the party so everyone can see the actual fun!

In my opinion this is probably a top wanted toy for Christmas! My son also has the Leapster Explorer which is loved by all the kids! The durability is nothing other than amazing! This thing has been dropped on concrete, lost in the couch & I even saw it stepped on! I don't recommend letting your kids doing the same thing to either the Leapster or tablet!

From the award winning educational toy company comes LeapPad, the learning tablet just for kids. With a built-in camera, and a library of 100+ cartridge games and activities, the durable LeapPad features innovative apps that inspire creativity and turn reading into fun and games. It's a new way to learn, a new way to play – a new way to unlock your child's potential!

LeapPad works with all Leapster Explorer™ and LeapFrog Explorer™ cartridge games and downloadable apps—more than 100 learning adventures await! Touch the screen with a finger, tap it with the stylus or turn, twist and shake the tablet for exciting motion-based play!
I really love that the cartridges work in both the tablet & Explorer! This makes it nice so when parents upgrade and the kids can continue to use the Explorer games! The motion play is out of this word & LeapFrog has outdone themselves on this one!

Reinforce school skills like reading and mathematics, and build skills like art, music, language, health and hygiene. Skill levels adjust automatically for each child – keeping the challenge just right and remembering progress so the learning and fun keep moving forward.

Characters spring to life with amazing animation, reading levels adjust the challenge to keep kids engaged, while touching the text sounds out words to help build phonics, comprehension and vocabulary skills. Voice recording, motion-based play and other innovative features turn reading into a cinematic experience!
I love that the Pad adjusts to the skill level of the child plus the motion play again is awesome!

Animation and Art studios let children create masterpieces. The Photo Studio lets them edit pictures they've taken with the built-in camera. Bring it all together in the Story Studio for an interactive book "All About Me" to share with family and friends!

The kids kinda played with this feature but not a ton. I'm going to have to play with this myself so I can really get into the review. The kids have taken several pictures & giggled over them. I think it's really awesome that they can customize an interactive book about their own lives!

Add your child's name and picture! Choose a pet to customize and nurture! Help change the game – literally – with customized mathematics skills and spelling lists that drop right into the action as your child plays!

I sure the Leappad is a great device. My daughter loves her outdated Leapster. She has been using it for years. arobimom at gmail dot com
